How many of you think Bella Swan is…hmm… I dont know.. SELFISH!? I do! I mean, she says she cant live without Edward, but it was her fault in the first place for not listening to him in Twilight, but the worst part of this whole ordeal, is that in New Moon, she uses Jacob as her personal boy toy!
I mean, seriously! “He’s my personal Sun,” What is that about?!! I mean, we all like Jacob, but she’s just using him to make her feel better! She’s just leading him on for her own personal games! I mean, COME ON! Just because you wouldnt listen to Edward when he said he wasnt good for you, doesnt mean you have to take out your patheticness on poor Jacob Black, your so-called best friend!
(WARNING: SPOILERS FOR BREAKING DAWN! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ!)
In Breaking Dawn, when Jacob shows up at Bella and Edward’s wedding, he shows up to make her happy! And then she goes and tells him that they’re going to have sex while she’s still human! I mean, we all knew she could get hurt because Edward has the strength of like, ten Supermans! And she’s still stupid enough to try it even though she could get KILLED!!!!! I mean, if she was killed, does she know what that would do to Jacob and Edward??!!
- Edward would go all emo on us and go to the Vulturi and ask to be killed.
- Jacob would go emo and go after Edward!
- Jacob would try to kill Edward!
- Edward would just let Jacob KILL him!!!
Do you see the upset in the balance??!! IT WOULD RUIN THE UNIVERSE!!
AND THEN WHEN SHE GETS PREGNANT!!! I mean, I wouldnt even get an abortion! So Im with her on that part, I mean, they dont even mention it in the book, so I was completely frustrated. But what kind of a name is RENESMEE??!! I mean, I like Carlie WAY better! I wouldda thought with a name like Isabella, she wouldda been able to come up with something atleast halfway decent for a first name!

dude, you guys are so weird. would you have hurt either one? i agree with you about jacob- that was really dumb, but he was there for her when edward had left her. he thought he was doing the right thing, but you know, that losing someone as perfect as edward would almost kill anyone. besides, stephenie meyer had to add twists into the story so we would continue reading and not just be like ‘wtf is up with her and edwards perfect relationship?’ besides, edward has always been my favorite. and jacob ends up with resnesmee, which is such a beautiful name. she was only doing what she thought was right at the moment- we all get caught up in it and dont think about things. i love their baby, i would have wanted to create one with edward do. ooh and have sex with him. damn, i seriously cant blame her at all.but i hope you see my point now, and that while it is pretty much bellas fault- you cant blame her for it all entirely. jacob should have given up a long time ago, we all knew he stood no chance with edward! omgg, i cannot wait for this movie to come out! i love kristen stewart, and ooh la la robert pattinson is fiiiiiiiiine. damn, i would kiss him any day. or just have a baby with him. j/k.

Critique to Bella Swan (my least favourite character in the Twilight saga)
Bella is, in my eyes, mostly a wish fulfilment fantasy. She’s a deliberate Plain Jane, Damsel in Distress as you said, she’s clumsy and awkward, she isn’t even that smart or that interesting, yet two of the most impossibly beautiful and cool men (Edward and Jacob) fall hopelessly in love with her, not to mention peripheral suitors Mike Newton, Tyler-something, and Eric Yorkie (God Lord!! Do they do drugs?). Plus, she’s the only one who is immune to vampire’s powers, two worlds are fighting for/over her, everyone either wants to kill/eat her or f*ck her because apparently she has such a delicious smell/blood yadayadayada, when in real life this girl would most likely be just ignored (sorry, it’s my opinion). I know some think the whole appeal is “an ordinary girl under extra-ordinary circumstances”, but that brings me to my next point: all of the above could be tolerable and even add to the character if she weren’t so aggravating – she’s extremely selfish and whiny, she lacks common sense, she’s shallow and hypocritical (come on, the main reason for her so-called love is basically Edward’s hotness, and then she has the nerve to imply her classmates are shallow), she’s manipulative, she’s overly nit-picking and pessimistic, and I could go on forever. Her character is also kind of contradictory because even though she supposedly has low self-esteem and sees herself as a zero to the left, she still seems very vain (Mike my lapdog? Who the hell do you think you are, please?), she is disdainful, she judges, snubs, and even mistreats everyone but her love interests. No, scratch that too. She first uses Jake to her personal advantage and then ditches him. She swears eternal love to Ed and then proceeds to cheat on him with Jake. Heh. You’re SO my hero, Bella.
Yes I know that finding Bella so unlikable makes me a lot like her ^//^, but Stephanie wants us to love her so much and see her as “completely worthy” of Edward’s (or Jacob’s, or anyone’s for that matter) love. I don’t like that. And I don’t think she has proven herself deserving of ANY guy in the series, let alone the best two (Edward and Jacob). In fact, the only male character she seems to truly respect is Carlisle.
Well whatever. I just dislike Bella… dont find redeeming qualities on her aside from…. mmm… let me think…. humor and… i guess cheesiness could count as “sweetness” to some…. (rolls eyes). Whatever. Enough of this.^^ I will never like Bella.

So… I hate to be “one of the lot”;) LOL, but it can’t be helped. I don’t like Bella (I’m guilty of liking her name though), I kind-of hate her. I mean it! LOL It may grow into full-on hate in the next book.
So… for me it goes like this. In book 1, I liked her. I thought she was a cutie and not much else. Heck, I didn’t pay her that much attention, she was there, I liked her and that was it. At the end she was a bit stupid going to fight the baddie on her own, then again I can understand how “fear” blocked her brain, or something. I guess we can say she was “brave”.
Book 1 and 2… that ruined her for me. she turned from a “normal girl” into a bitch. She sucks there. I could elaborate but she isn’t worth that much time.
Then there are her looks. I want SM to outright STATE if shes an ugly duckling, a plain jane or a beautiful swan as her name indicates. Because seriously… why do ALL the guys have the hots for her if she’s not babe? And if she IS a beauty, why does she feel SOOOO darn ugly? I mean come on. You cannot have such a distorted image of yourself unless you have serious issues. And bella is not supposed to be like that, or is she?
Also, I can’t see why WE should see Bella as completely worthy of Edward’s/Jacob’s love when BELLA HERSELF doesn’t see it. She’s always whining about Edward/Jake being way too good for her and all that crap. “Oh I don’t deserve them!! I’m pure garbage!!” Hey Bella it’s a historic moment! You are actually RIGHT, for god’s sake! The only thing you deserve is HATE or DEATH.
So… GO BELLA HATERS! LOL. Everyone deserves love, yes, but Bella deserves more hate than love

I agree with you guys when you say she used Jake (god i love that name.) But I loved how Steph wrote more about him in the 2nd book.
I HATED that in the first book when the guys go to attack her she doesn’t do anything, I mean serously most NORMAL girls would have done something, not stand there and do nothing! And how she expacts Edward to change her at the End whats up with that.
I also hate how she kissed Jake in the third.WHORE much?
I hated the fourth book. The charaters didn’t sound the same. I also hated it because none of them fighted. What made the book good though was Renesmee and Jake, and Kate, and Garrett, they were the reasons i actually read the book.I also hate when Edward gives her what she wants by having sex, because he just wouldn’t do that to begin with.

Shes completely spineless,needs Eddie for every single thing,hes no hopes,dreams or ambitions,is schizophrenic,suicidal,cowardly,doesnt care for her ‘friends’(which is the reason why I REALLY hate her),calls her parents by their first names,is completely ungrateful for everything she has,and,to sum it up,is a complete Mary Sue.
